Job Overview:
The Director of the Accounting Shared Services group will lead the accounting resources in India who are supporting the US accounting functions. This role will work closely with their US counterpart in ensuring deadlines are met in order to meet accounting deliverable dates. This role will oversee a team of 6 – 9 people in size.
Job Description:
-> Ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks to support US accounting close and other related deadlines.
-> Coordinates and ensures accurate and timely month-end, quarter, and year-end close processes.
-> Accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports.
-> Fields questions and directs the team in conjunction with their daily responsibilities.
-> Knowledge and experience working in account systems – Oracle experience is a plus.
-> Assists in compiling data and responding to Auditor's requests and ensure that all observations are adequately addressed.
-> Manage day-to-day accounting operations for relevant assigned areas ensuring zero leakages and adequate controls.
-> Undertaking any ad hoc projects as and when required by Management.
-> Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
-> Respond to teams’ queries and resolution of any issues raised and establish good relationships with your key business partners.
-> Ensure risks and issues in processes are identified, reported, and escalated as appropriately as required.
-> Expertise in understanding of systems and processes, accounting policies/ principles and controls, implemented by management for ensuring appropriate controls in operations and proper legal compliance and adherence to accounting standards.
-> Assist team in onboarding new processes as additional work is identified and transitioned to the accounting shared service function.
-> In conjunction with U.S. based staff, develop team members' accounting capabilities.
Requirements:
-> Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
-> Qualified Chartered Accountant. CPA degree is an added benefit.
-> 10+ years of professional experience, with at least four years of experience in the accounting or accounting/finance department.
->Comprehensive understanding of current U.S. generally accepted accounting principles.
-> Experience with the preparation of financial statements and related notes.
-> Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
->Strong accounting research and technical writing skills.
Prerequisites-preferred:
-> Knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and the demonstrated ability to apply such knowledge to practical situations shall be preferred.
